Chocolate lasagna has always been one of my favorite layered desserts to share with friends.
Most traditional recipes rely heavily on regular cream cheese and heavy milk, which can be tough if your stomach cannot handle milk products.

That is why I created this dairy free protein chocolate lasagna so anyone can enjoy a slice without feeling uncomfortable later.
It has a crunchy cookie base, a smooth cheesecake center, and a rich chocolate pudding layer that tastes super creamy.
Plus, the added protein helps make it much more satisfying than your typical sugary dessert.
Why This Recipe Is a Keeper
Decadent Taste – You get rich chocolate flavor in every bite without any dairy to hold you back.
Amazing Texture Contrast – Crunchy cookie crust pairs perfectly with fluffy cheesecake, silky pudding, and soft whipped topping.

Protein Packed Treat – Hidden protein powder and silken tofu make this sweet dessert feel genuinely nourishing.
No Oven Required – You never have to turn on your hot oven because the freezer sets every layer.
Here’s What You’ll Need
For the Cookie Crust
- 30 Dairy Free Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
- 5 tbsp Dairy Free Butter, Melted
For the Cheesecake Layer
- 8 oz Dairy Free Cream Cheese, Softened
- 1 cup Plain Dairy Free Greek Style Yogurt
- 1/2 cup Dairy Free Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1/3 cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
For the Chocolate Pudding Layer
- 16 oz Silken Tofu, Drained, Room Temperature
- 6 oz Dairy Free Dark Chocolate Chips
- 1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1/3 cup Maple Syrup
- 1/4 cup Dairy Free Chocolate Protein Powder
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 pinch Salt
For the Topping
- 16 oz Dairy Free Whipped Topping, Thawed, Divided
- 1/4 cup Dairy Free Mini Chocolate Chips
How to Make It
Step 1
Pulse the cookies in a food processor into fine crumbs, then add the melted butter and pulse until the mixture looks like wet sand. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish and freeze for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Beat the cream cheese until smooth, then add the yogurt, vanilla protein powder, powdered sugar and vanilla and beat until thick and lump free. Fold in 1 cup of the whipped topping until light and fluffy.
Step 3
Spread the cheesecake layer evenly over the crust and freeze for 15 minutes to firm up, which keeps the layers clean and distinct.
Step 4
Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth, and let cool for 5 minutes. Blend the tofu until completely smooth.
Add the melted chocolate, cocoa powder, maple syrup, chocolate protein powder, vanilla and salt to the tofu and blend until thick, glossy and silky, scraping down the sides once or twice.
Step 5
Dollop the chocolate pudding over the cheesecake layer and gently spread it into an even layer, working from the center out so the layers do not mix.
Step 6
Spread the remaining whipped topping over the pudding and sprinkle with the mini chocolate chips.
Step 7
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight, until set. Cut into squares and serve cold.

Recipe Tips
Bring the Silken Tofu to Room Temperature
You’ll get the best results if you take the silken tofu out of the fridge at least an hour before blending.
If the tofu is cold when you pour in the melted chocolate, the chocolate will harden instantly into tiny gritty chunks.
Having both at room temperature ensures the pudding turns out ultra glossy and completely smooth.
Press the Crust Down Firmly
My favorite trick here is to use the flat bottom of a dry measuring cup or drinking glass to pack the cookie crumbs.

Dairy-free sandwich cookies can crumble easily if they are pressed too lightly into the dish.
Packing them tightly creates a solid base that holds together neatly when you slice into it later.
Do Not Skip the Quick Freezes
From my experience, taking 15 minutes to pop the dish in the freezer between steps makes a huge difference.
If the cheesecake layer is still soft when you add the chocolate pudding, the two will smudge together into a messy swirl.
That short chill creates a firm surface so you can spread the top layers gently without disturbing the layer underneath.

Popular Questions
Do I need to remove the cream filling from the cookies for the crust?
No, you should leave the cream filling right inside the sandwich cookies when you put them in the food processor. The sweet filling actually helps bind the crumbs together with the melted dairy-free butter so your crust holds its shape nicely.
If you remove the centers, the crust will be way too dry and crumbly when you try to slice the dessert later.
